CANDIDATE MUST

: Be motivated and able to perform duties related to the protection of persons and property, the suppression and prevention of crime, and all other duties related to this position. Be able to work under the supervision of a superior officer, make independent decisions based on prescribed standards and have the flexibility to adapt to various situations encountered in the line of duty. Be able to understand and apply provisions of various Massachusetts General Laws and Town Bylaws and reduce his/her findings to written reports. Be able to work effectively with the general public in the course of providing services to the community. Be able to exert moderate and at times strenuous physical effort in the performance of the duties related to this position. Be able to work evenings and weekends

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS

: Massachusetts Police Academy Certification for Reserve/Intermittent police officer, MPTC Bridge Academy permanent certification, MPTC Academy, or equivalent. Successful completion of the Russell - Montgomery Police Department Field Training Program. Must be able to obtain a POST Commission Certification upon completion of an Academy. Valid Massachusetts Driver's License. Valid Massachusetts License to Carry Firearms College degree in Criminal Justice field is preferred, but not required.

$58,000.00 - $62,480.00 per year
