Full-Time Security Position Wyoming Seminary seeks a Full-Time Security Guard to maintain the safety and security of the students, school staff, and all school-owned facilities. The successful The candidate reports directly to the Director of Campus Safety and Security and works collaboratively with the Director of Facilities Operations.
Work Environment and Schedule:
Work may be performed outside in seasonal temperatures as well as inside of buildings. Work will be performed on an 11:00 pm to 7:00 am shift schedule and will include weekends and holidays. Off- hour coverage for sporting events, campus events, or open shifts may be requested. Flexibility is required.
Main Duties:
Ensures security for school operations and special events. Ensures that campus facilities and school community members are secure and safe. Keeps alert for people with unusual behavior/attitude around campus. Responsible for checking building doors, open windows, fields, vehicles, and parking lots. Responsible for checking the identity of all visitors when coming on campus while also facilitating guidance for students, parents, and visitors.
Requirements:
Good communication skills and ability to work well with others; service-oriented attitude. Ability to do considerable walking to make rounds of the facility. Work requires considerable physical effort or manual dexterity. Organized, focused, and able to follow detailed instructions. Ability to document incidents on school-provided forms. Fire Alarm/Emergency Response responsibilities. Ability to lift and move portable bollards. Attend annual training as directed. Qualifications —
Education/Certification/Skills:
Qualification as a police officer, a security guard, or having served in the military. Current or recent experience for at least three years as a police officer/security/military employee is required. Act 235 certification. RLEIA or concealed weapons permit. Understands campus security needs. Knowledge of using campus security systems. High school diploma or GED required. Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License. NASRO training is a plus. Must be able to pass background checks.
