Responsibilities Safely operate a 26ft box truck or similar commercial vehicle with manual transmission, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Load and unload furniture items using proper lifting techniques, ensuring items are secured during transit. Navigate route driving efficiently to meet delivery schedules while maintaining a focus on safety and customer satisfaction. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting clients professionally, answering questions, and ensuring furniture is placed accurately in designated areas. Conduct thorough inspections of deliveries to verify accuracy and condition of items upon receipt. Communicate proactively with dispatch or warehouse teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered on the route. Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle, performing routine checks and reporting any mechanical concerns promptly. Assist with warehouse duties such as organizing inventory or preparing items for delivery when necessary. Follow all safety protocols related to heavy lifting, moving furniture, and operating equipment like forklifts. Document delivery activities accurately through logs or digital systems for tracking purposes. Experience Prior experience as a delivery driver or courier is highly preferred, especially with furniture or heavy goods. Demonstrated ability to load, unload, and move large or heavy items safely using appropriate equipment. Proven customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional demeanor during interactions with clients. Experience operating box trucks or similar vehicles with manual transmissions is desirable. Familiarity with route planning and driving in various traffic conditions to ensure timely deliveries. Warehouse experience that includes inventory management or material handling is a plus. Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy lifting, moving furniture, and vehicle operation.
