Furniture Service Technician Compensation:

$23 - $26/hour, based on experience.

Field-Based | Greater Milwaukee, WI service territory.

Full-Time | Field-Based / In-Person.

Schedule:

Tuesday-Saturday | 9:00 AM start, with flexibility based on service routes. Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Furniture Service Technician to join our Customer Service team. In this role, you will identify, assess, and complete repairs in clients' homes and at our retail locations. Penny Mustard is seeking a technician who can not only resolve the issue, but also educate clients and internal team members on the "why and how" behind the concern and proposed solution.

Key Responsibilities Safe Vehicle Operation:

Safely operate a company-issued service van while on your route. You will be responsible for communicating any required vehicle maintenance.

Accurate Preparation and Loading:

Once your route is dispatched, you will be responsible for ensuring you have the required tools and parts needed to complete your service calls before beginning your route.

Raving Fan Service:

Provide exceptional client service during in-home service calls, representing the Penny Mustard brand with professionalism and courtesy.

Route Ownership:

Follow service schedules and routes efficiently, ensuring on-time arrivals and proactive communication with the client, Customer Service team and Warehouse teams.

Safety & Maintenance:

Conduct regular vehicle inspections for mechanical issues or safety concerns to ensure the service van remains road-ready and compliant.

Operational Accuracy:

Maintain accurate service records and ensure all client paperwork is completed correctly before leaving the site.

Customer Education:

Clearly communicate findings to clients and Service Agents after investigating their concerns. . Essential Functions To be successful in this role, you must be able to: Complete on-site repairs in clients' homes, retail showrooms, and shop settings. Continue learning through internal and external resources to refine your craft. Demonstrate strong time management and self-motivation. Maintain a professional, patient attitude when interacting with clients in their homes and employees within Penny Mustard .

Requirements License:

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (Required).

Physical Capability:

Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver a minimum of 100 lbs. consistently throughout the day. While investigating or installing parts you may find yourself standing, squatting or kneeling down on the ground for long periods of time.

Experience:

Proven experience as a furniture Service Technician. This includes an in-depth understanding of furniture terminology, how to make repairs to solid wood furniture, replacing or adjusting mechanisms and mechanical parts. Experience repairing leather furniture is a big plus.

Grit:

A strong determination to think outside of the box to "get the job done" and solve problems in the field.
