About the
Role:
The FV Maintenance-Mechanic plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment within the facility. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and executing repairs to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules. The ideal candidate will work closely with the maintenance team to implement preventive maintenance programs and improve equipment reliability. This role demands a proactive approach to identifying potential mechanical failures and collaborating with engineering and production teams to optimize machinery performance. Ultimately, the FV Maintenance-Mechanic contributes to the overall safety, quality, and productivity of the manufacturing process by maintaining equipment in peak condition.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience as a mechanic or maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Valid driver's license and ability to operate hand and power tools safely.
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering technology, or a related field. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Familiarity with welding, fabrication, and machining processes. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards in manufacturing. Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on manufacturing machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operation. Diagnose mechanical failures and malfunctions using appropriate tools and techniques, and execute timely repairs. Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to schedule maintenance activities that minimize production disruptions. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory to support operational efficiency. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements while performing maintenance tasks to ensure a safe working environment.
