Gallery Assistant

Overview Catskill Art Space is seeking a thoughtful and reliable Gallery Assistant to be the welcoming face of our organization on weekends. Duties Welcome and orient visitors to current exhibitions Monitor galleries; ensure artwork safety and visitor comfort Assist with exhibition preparation and light art handling Support installation and deinstallation under Executive Director direction Process donated gifts; maintain accurate records Prepare mailings and membership correspondence Provide general administrative support during gallery hours Assist with logistics for evening events as scheduled Requirements Genuine interest in contemporary art or nonprofit work Warm, professional manner with the public; strong attention to detail Comfortable and proficient with basic computer tasks; Graphic design experience a plus Able to lift up to 30 lbs; reliable weekend and occasional evening availability This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to grow their expertise in arts sector and non-profits.
