Garden Center Lot Associate

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Garden Center Lot Associate to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient operation of our garden center by handling the loading and unloading of plant deliveries, staging plants for upcoming jobs, assisting with inventory control, and maintaining the overall health and appearance of our plant stock.

Key Responsibilities Loading & Unloading:

Safely load and unload plant delivery trucks, ensuring all items are handled with care to prevent damage.

Plant Staging:

Organize and stage plants for upcoming projects, ensuring timely availability for landscape crews.

B&B Material Handling:

Properly heel in balled and burlapped (B&B) materials to maintain plant health until installation.

Inventory Assistance:

Collaborate with the inventory control team to track plant stock, report discrepancies, and assist in inventory audits.

Stock Maintenance:

Regularly stock and organize the plant lot, ensuring plants are displayed attractively and accessibly for customers.

Customer Service:

Assist customers by loading plants and bulk materials into their vehicles, providing courteous and efficient service.

Plant Care:

Perform routine plant maintenance, including watering, weed control, fertilizing, and pruning to ensure optimal plant health and presentation.

Qualifications Experience:

Previous experience in a garden center, nursery, or landscaping environment is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Skills:

Basic knowledge of plant care and maintenance; ability to operate equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus.

Team Player:

Communication:
