Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Gear Specialist responds to customer and salesperson inquiries regarding gear products and projects. This role includes providing quotations, technical assistance, and coordinating with the customer and sales team to ensure project requirements are met. The Gear Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring that customer projects are accurately quoted, planned, and supported with minimal management supervision. This job is on site, at our Canton location. The hours are 8-5pm Monday - Friday. Opportunities for

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Quotation Management:
Provide accurate quotations and price estimates for standard, complex, and custom gear projects.
Customer Support:
Assist customers and sales teams with technical questions on the application and operation of gear products, offering solutions to meet project needs or alternate solutions that they deem a better solution.
Project Coordination:
Review project plans and specifications to identify potential solutions and suggest alternatives as needed.
Vendor Coordination:
Contact external vendors to obtain pricing for specialized items required for comprehensive electrical distribution proposals. Ability to use external vendor provided software for gear quotations.
Issue Resolution:
Work with sales personnel to promptly address customer order issues or complaints.
Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare necessary correspondence and reports to support business transactions and customer communications.
Training and Development Support:
Participate in planning and presenting training programs to enhance customer and sales team knowledge of gear products. Act as technical advisor to sales staff and customers in regards to gear products and operations of them. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience (2-4 years). Experience in Electrical Distribution and/or manufacturing preferred. Expertise in reading and comprehending electrical plans and specifications. Proven experience managing gear/lighting projects and/or electrical distribution and control projects. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to manage and balance multiple projects concurrently. Must be a self-start requiring little supervision. Must be creative with the ability to create comprehension and complex gear proposals. Demonstrate strong customer service skills. Customer First!
