General Handyman/Maintenance Worker

Job description: Fragile Planet Wildlife Park is looking for a hardworking and reliable Maintenance / Handyman Worker to help us maintain a safe, functional, and beautiful environment where our animals and guests can thrive. As a growing zoo, we are constantly improving and expanding our exhibits and enclosures, and we need someone who enjoys building, fixing, and maintaining spaces that support animal care and guest experiences. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working outdoors, and is able to identify maintenance needs and take initiative to complete projects. Responsibilities Maintain and repair animal enclosures, exhibits, fencing, gates, and park structures Assist with building and improving habitats for a variety of animals Perform general maintenance tasks such as carpentry, concrete work, landscaping, and repairs around the park Conduct routine inspections to identify repairs or improvements needed for animal habitats and guest areas Help maintain safe pathways, viewing areas, and guest facilities Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently Work alongside the animal care and management team to complete projects that improve the park Keep work areas clean and organized while following safety guidelines Qualifications Experience in general maintenance, handyman work, and construction Strong skills in woodworking and concrete work required Physically capable of lifting heavy materials, working outdoors, and using ladders or tools Reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Experience working on farms, ranches, construction sites, or outdoor facilities is a plus Fragile Planet Wildlife Park is an exciting and unique place to work.
