Job Description

Job Title:
General Labor Job Description This role involves performing a variety of general labor tasks in a production environment focused on soil mixing and material handling. You support daily operations by mixing and sorting soil, gathering and moving materials throughout the facility, and assisting with production changeovers. This position is well suited to individuals with hands-on experience in construction, oil changes, landscaping, or other outdoor work who are comfortable working in a dirty, non-climate-controlled environment on a night shift schedule. Responsibilities Mix and sort soil according to established procedures and production requirements. Gather raw materials and supplies needed for soil mixing and production processes. Assist with changing over materials between production runs, including cleaning and preparing equipment as needed. Move materials and finished products safely around the facility using appropriate methods and tools. Support various roles within the production area as assigned, adapting to different tasks based on operational needs. Follow safety procedures when working around soil, dust, and chemical processes, including proper use of personal protective equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area despite working in a dirty and dusty environment. Work effectively during night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., following the rotating weekly schedule. Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth production flow and timely completion of tasks. Assist during active production runs by monitoring materials, responding to directions quickly, and helping resolve basic production issues. Essential Skills Previous experience in general labor, construction, production, outdoor work, landscaping, or oil change mechanics. Ability to work comfortably in a dirty environment with soil, dust, and chemical processes. Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled facility that can be very hot in summer and cold in winter. Willingness and ability to work night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on a rotating schedule. Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods. Reliability and strong work ethic to support continuous production operations. Comfort working around chemicals and following safety protocols. Flexibility to perform a variety of roles and tasks within the production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background in construction, landscaping, outdoor work, or oil change mechanics is highly beneficial. Experience working in manufacturing or open bay facilities is a plus. Ability to independently gather and organize materials needed for mixing processes. Comfort using basic tools and equipment commonly used in general labor and production settings. Strong attention to detail when following instructions for mixing and sorting materials. Willingness to learn new tasks and adapt to different roles within the facility. Why Work Here? Work Environment You work in a non-climate-controlled, open bay manufacturing facility where conditions can be very hot during the summer and cold during the winter. The environment is dirty due to dust from soil and other products, as well as exposure to chemical processes, so you should be comfortable working around soil, dust, and chemicals. The role follows a night shift schedule from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with one person working Sunday through Tuesday one week and Sunday through Wednesday the next week. All required personal protective equipment is provided to help you work safely in this demanding production setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sardis, MS 38666. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
