General Laborer

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Primary responsibility will be providing excellent customer service through the daily operation and housekeeping of grain equipment at the Percy Elevator. This is a full-time position with benefits and time and a half pay for overtime work.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Strong work ethic and a desire to provide excellent service to customers while maintaining a positive attitude. We will provide operational training. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to work long hours in outdoor conditions (Heat, Cold, Dust, etc..). Class B CDL or ability to obtain one to assist crop department is helpful, but not required. Must be able to handle shoveling, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 70 pounds. Ability to work safely and comfortably at heights and in confined spaces. Must be available to work all seasonal harvest hours.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Operate grain handling equipment to load and unload trucks. Contribute daily to cleanliness, maintenance, and clean-out of facility. Work effectively and safely as a team to accomplish goals. Monitor grain and equipment conditions and communicate any potential problems. Safely operate equipment such as forklift, loader, and trucks to fill crop orders for customers.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Follows Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply Performs all other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires a high school diploma or the equivalent thereof Some mechanical ability Responsible for renewing licenses or certifications as required and reporting status of licenses or certifications to the Location Manager Ability to work extended hours as business conditions warrant Occasionally exposed or required to work in or around: Weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.) Noisy conditions Working conditions may include dust, fumes, and chemicals, requiring utilization of appropriate safety measures Lift 51 - 70 lbs.
