General Laborer Custodian

The General Laborer Custodian cleans and keeps facilities and Parks in an orderly condition. Will Travel as a Crew from Fire Station to Job Sites Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm

Essential Functions:

Operates commercial type mowers, trimmers, and other heavy equipment during the day. Cleans and maintains city parks. Digs holes, pours concrete, and erects streets signs. Trim tree limbs and brush. Works outdoors in hot, cold and/or hot weather. Collect brush, garbage and debris and loads onto truck. Performs minor mechanical repairs on equipment. Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

Skilled in the use of hand and power tools Ability to speak, read and write

English Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, Not Required Related degree from a technical college desirable Experience performing routine maintenance preferred, Not Required Must be authorized to work in the U.S. A valid Driver's License Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to twist, turn, bend, lift, kneel, climb and stand. Lifting of up to 50 lbs may occur. Employees will be required to travel (at organization expense). Expectation of exposure to weather (heat, cold, rain, snow) as operations occur in all areas of Dimmit County. Travel This position requires 20-30% travel to job sites.
