Full-Time Job Summary:

Bedford Metal Recycling is seeking a dependable and hardworking General Laborer to assist with daily operations in a fast-paced scrap metal yard. This role involves sorting, handling, and processing recyclable metals, maintaining a safe work environment, and supporting equipment operators and yard staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Sort and separate ferrous and non-ferrous metals Assist customers with unloading materials Operate basic tools and equipment (training provided) Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard Follow all safety procedures and company policies Support scale operations and material inspections as needed Perform general labor tasks such as lifting, moving, and stacking materials

Qualifications:

Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor conditions Must be able to lift 50+ pounds regularly Strong work ethic and reliability Basic understanding of safety practices (or willingness to learn) Experience in construction, labor, or recycling is a plus but not required

Work Environment:

Outdoor industrial setting with exposure to weather conditions Fast-paced, physically demanding work Use of protective equipment (PPE) required at all times
