General Laborer/Pallet Builder

Philpac General Laborer/ Pallet Builder Philpac Corporation is currently seeking candidates to join our General Laborer/ Pallet Builder team in Pendleton, NY! Philpac has been a leader in the packaging industry for over 40 years and has all your packaging needs covered. We are currently seeking General Laborers for our Lockport, NY location. The primary role of the General Laborer is to cut and assemble lumber and plywood as necessary to produce customer orders according to specifications. As part of this role, you will be responsible for the following constructive tasks:

• Consistently utilizing chop saws and table saws to cut wood according to specifications accurately
• Skillfully fastening wood pieces together using nail guns or drills
• Thoughtfully bundling and palletizing goods to ensure efficient storage and shipping
• Proactively maintaining good housekeeping practices to uphold a clean and safe work environment
• Diligently following all health and safety rules and policies
• Embracing any other responsibilities as assigned by the Manager to contribute to the team's success

Qualifications:

• Strong ability to perform simple math calculations for quantities and sizes
• Proficiency in reading tape measures and understanding fractions of inches (1/8", 1/4", 3/8", etc.) is required
• Prior experience operating a forklift is advantageous but not mandatory
• Capable of engaging in frequent physical activities including climbing (stairs/ladders), bending, balancing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), pulling, pushing, walking, and standing for extended periods
• Must have reliable transportation
