Duties and Responsibilities An Assistant General Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of guest services across all departments including Rooms, Spa and Food and Beverage. Working to guide and support the Directors of these departments and create operational synergy. The Assistant General Manager is also overall responsible for providing all guests with quality service while maximizing revenue and productivity and developing and supporting managers and team member's performance. The ideal Assistant General Manager candidate will have: excellent communication skills in all aspects professional and appropriate business appearance and presentation three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a comparable position in a luxury hotel operation excellent knowledge of all aspects of Hotel and Restaurant Operations at a 4 Star (or above) Property excellent organizational and administrative skills excellent guest service and problem resolution skills the flexibility to meet the demands of a 24 hour operation the ability to work comprehensively with spreadsheets and budgeting packages The duties and responsibilities of an Assistant General Manager include: Coordinating the organization and administrative functions in all areas of guest facing departments including Rooms, Spa and Food and Beverage Lead and reinforce Forbes/Five-Star or luxury hospitality service standards Handle VIP arrivals, guest recovery situations and escalated complaints Create memorable and personalized guest experiences Monitor guest feedback, online reviews and satisfaction scores Maintain a strong presence in public areas during peak periods and events Lead and reinforce Forbes/Five-Star or luxury hospitality service standards Handle VIP arrivals, guest recovery situations and escalated complaints Ensuring total compliance with standards of operation Ensuring that staffing is maintained at an appropriate level to match business demand Coach, mentor and develop department leaders Support hiring, onboarding, training and performance management Foster a positive, collaborative, service-oriented culture Conduct regular leadership meetings and team member engagement initiatives Ensure accountability to resort values, standards and policies Assist with budgeting, forecasting and labor management Monitor payroll, productivity and departmental expenses Drive revenue opportunities through upselling and operational efficiency Review financial reports and operational metrics Support achievement of GOP, RevPAR, ADR and guest satisfaction goals Job Skills/Requirements/Qualifications Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidays. Ability to effectively communicate with all team members An enthusiastic, positive demeanor and desire to provide exceptional guest service Clear Background Check Working conditions/Physical Requirements Must be flexible in work extended hours, nights and weekends as the resort operates 24/7 and 365 days a year. Remote or hybrid work arrangement is not an option Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and in stressful situations Must respond to multiple task interruptions and still provide service to internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner Must be able to travel Requires good vision Must possess a valid driver's license, pass a motor vehicle records check, be insurable on company insurance and own a personal vehicle to conduct business away from the property Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long periods at a time May be required to do light lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds Have the ability to climb stairs Have the stamina to stand and flexibility to stretch, reach, bend, stoop, squat and kneel as the work dictates
