Job Title:
General Production Worker Job Description The General Production Worker prepares and processes panels for final assembly in a clean, modern production facility. This role focuses on cleaning, labeling, and staging materials, applying insulated foam using established work instructions, and ensuring each panel meets quality standards before moving to the next station. You will work with hand tools and measurement tools, follow detailed instructions, and support general production tasks to keep workflow running smoothly while maintaining a safe and organized work area. Responsibilities Prepare panels for final assembly by cleaning, labeling, and staging materials according to work instructions. Apply insulated foam to assembled panels using proper techniques and documented procedures. Load and unload panels from the curing chamber safely and efficiently. Inspect panels for defects, accuracy, and overall quality before they move to the next station. Use hand tools and measurement tools, such as tape measures, to complete fabrication and fitting tasks. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Assist with general production tasks as needed to keep workflow moving across the production floor. Read and follow work instructions and basic blueprints or diagrams as required for panel prep and fabrication. Support light industrial and fabrication activities involving sheet metal and fitting as directed. Participate in any required onsite skills assessments, including welding exams if assigned to welding-related work. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work comfortably with tools and machinery. Hands-on skills for working with hand tools and production equipment. Ability to use a tape measure and perform basic measurements accurately. Attention to detail to identify defects and verify accuracy and quality of panels. Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions consistently. Reliable, steady work habits and strong work ethic. Willingness to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and consistency. Basic understanding of mechanical concepts or mechanical knowledge. Ability to work safely when loading and unloading panels and operating around fabrication equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Education or training focused on trades such as HVAC, pipe fitting, electrical, fabrication, or welding is welcome, including recent school graduates. Experience or exposure to production, light industry, fabrication, sheet metal, or fitting is beneficial. Blueprint reading skills are an asset. Welding experience, including working with steel, is an advantage and may lead to welding-related responsibilities. Willingness to learn all aspects of panel prep, foam application, and quality inspection. Openness to complete an onsite welding exam administered by leadership if considered for welding duties. Eagerness to learn, take direction, and develop new technical skills. Strong communication skills to work effectively with team members on the production floor. Why Work Here? The site includes a cafeteria with vending machines and concession areas for convenient breaks and meals. You will work with company-provided tools and production equipment, and you will receive training and paid certification opportunities for forklift, rigging, and overhead crane operation as needed. Standard industrial personal protective equipment is provided by the employer, except for safety shoes, which you bring yourself. The overall setting supports focused production work, collaboration with teammates, and long-term skill development in a structured light industrial and fabrication environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Randolph, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
