Job Title:
General Production Worker Job Description The General Production Worker supports high-volume manufacturing operations by transferring, stocking, loading, and unloading materials for automated production lines that manufacture airbag inflators. This role follows established quality procedures, performs visual and dimensional inspections, and may complete rework activities to ensure products meet strict safety and quality standards. The position requires consistent attention to detail, comfort working around explosive materials, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, climate-controlled production environment. Responsibilities Transfer, stock, load, and unload materials for production lines, including diffusers, holders, retainers, initiators, o-rings, end caps, sleeves, canisters, filters, tubes, disks, foil seals, springs, support barrels, shorting clips, labels, and generant. Support multiple business teams by ensuring the correct materials are available at the right time and in the right quantities for each production line. Operate within automated production processes used to manufacture airbag inflators, following standard operating procedures and safety guidelines. Check, correct, or perform rework on inflators as needed to meet quality and safety requirements. Perform quality procedures and audits, including dimensional checks and visual inspections, to verify that products meet specifications. Identify nonconforming materials or products and escalate issues according to established quality protocols. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with facility safety and housekeeping standards. Follow all safety rules and site-specific policies related to working with explosive materials and automated equipment. Stand and walk throughout the shift while performing material handling and production tasks. Lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds regularly as part of daily production activities. Use basic technology interfaces and controls to operate or monitor automated equipment. Work assigned shifts and be available for overtime, including extended periods of 6-7 days per week, as production demands require. Adapt to rotating schedules where days off may change week to week, including occasional weekend work. Essential Skills Previous experience in manufacturing or production environments. Ability to stand and walk for 8 hours per day in a production setting with no sitting work areas. Comfort working around and handling processes involving explosive materials, following strict safety protocols. Ability to lift, push, or pull 40 pounds on a regular basis. Tech-savvy mindset with the ability to work with automated production equipment and related technology. Attention to detail and ability to perform visual and dimensional quality checks. Reliability and willingness to work 6-7 days per week when required by production schedules. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to standard operating procedures. Commitment to working safely in a highly controlled manufacturing environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications General production, general labor, or manufacturing experience in a high-volume environment. Mechanical aptitude that can support future growth into equipment or maintenance-related roles. Experience working with automated or semi-automated production equipment. Comfort performing repetitive tasks while maintaining consistent quality and safety standards. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with lead operators and supervisors. Work Environment The role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility that produces airbag inflators using automated production equipment. You work on-site around automated machinery and explosive materials, following strict safety protocols and site rules. The facility prohibits lighters, matches, cigarettes, chewing tobacco, vape pens, and e-cigarettes anywhere inside; these items must remain in personal vehicles. Work is organized into three primary shifts: 1st shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., 2nd shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and 3rd shift from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. The first day of work is always on a Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., after which you move to your designated shift. Regular schedules are Monday through Friday; however, current operations include weekend work, and you must be comfortable working 6-7 days per week. For extended overtime periods, rotating schedules are used where you work six days on and receive two consecutive days off, with days off rotating to provide shared access to weekends. The environment requires standing and walking for the full shift, frequent material handling up to 40 pounds, and adherence to all safety, equipment, and facility guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Queen Creek, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.55/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
