Job Description

Schedule:
Part time, 32 hours per week, 0730-1600, 4 days per week, Mon-Fri, day off will vary each week. No weekends or holidays.

LPN:
$24.90•30.87
CMA:
$21.13•26.99 This position performs reception, clerical and nursing duties related to the functions of the Specialty Clinic, in accordance with hospital and departmental standards and policies. Position Specific Requirements Works directly with General Surgeon(s) in a clinic setting Assists General Surgeon with minor surgical clinic procedures Knowledge of sterile techniques Performs patient dressing changes and wound cares Answers telephone, takes messages, disseminates information to the appropriate personnel Assist with scheduling outpatient consultations and procedures, same day surgery if indicated Collaborates with Specialty Clinic Manager Schedules tentative surgical dates with patients at consultation Preps charts for clinic and surgical areas, through the use of the electronic health record Updates patient information in the electronic health record Assists the surgical department in coordination of surgery with Surgery Manager and physicians Assists in performing quality management functions for the department Updates department calendars and schedules and utilizes as a communication tool for scheduled services Demonstrates flexibility by working with other Specialists in the department due to staffing needs. Maintains inventory for department Responds in a pleasant and respectful manner to patients, staff, physicians and public Clear communication with staff, manager, and providers Enter orders in the electronic health record as indicated Collaborates with surgery prior authorization staff and Surgical Navigator Files charts upon completion (if applicable) and distributes records from outside facilities to Health Information Management Completes patient paperwork as indicated by surgeon for insurance companies or patient's employer (if indicated) Graduate of an accredited program for medical assisting, practical nursing or registered nursing Current certification as medical assistant or nurse license to practice in Iowa BLS certification (able to complete post hire) Child and Dependent Adult Mandatory Reporter training required (able to complete post hire)
