Geotechnical Engineer

Corporation is seeking a full-time Geotechnical Engineer. The position will primarily work from the corporate headquarters office in Poca, WV reporting to the Engineering Department Head.

Job Duties:

Executing geotechnical engineering projects from start to finish Developing field exploration and laboratory testing plans for geotechnical engineering investigations Preparing proposals for geotechnical engineering services Coordinating/managing field investigations Sampling and logging soils and rock during field investigations Research, engineering analysis and preparation of geotechnical engineering reports Tracking budgets and schedule to ensure project requirements are met Review of foundation plans and grading plans for conformance with geotechnical engineering investigation reports Collaborating with various other consultants including civil engineers, structural engineers, architects and construction managers Core work hours will be Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm with overtime as needed All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering (MS preferred) WV Professional Engineering License 5 to 15 years of experience Working knowledge of soil mechanics theory and laboratory testing techniques Excellent verbal and written communication skills Computer skills including CADD, Microsoft Office Possess an outgoing and positive attitude, are dependable and meet all assigned project deadlines Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines
