Job Description
Our client, Densification, Inc. is a ground improvement contracting firm specializing in Dynamic Compaction . Founded in 1993 and with over 1,000 projects completed throughout the U.S. and internationally, they are a growing, family-owned specialty contractor. Their mission is to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions through high-energy soil densification. They view themselves as the partner of choice for geotechnical consultants and owners facing complex ground improvement issues. Their operations are headquartered in Paeonian Springs, Virginia, outside of Washington, D.C. with global reach. They own a fleet of over 30 cranes and have 25 team members. The Position They are seeking a Geotechnical Project Manager to join the team and support their continued growth. This is a hybrid engineering and construction management role. You will be responsible for the technical and logistical execution of projects, ensuring that the dynamic compaction methods meet rigorous geotechnical specifications while maintaining client satisfaction, schedule and budget. The projects average 1 to 2 months in duration, and you'll manage up to 3 projects at a time. They are a small, dedicated, nimble team - you'll work with the leadership team, field superintendents, and clients in this role. You'll report directly to the President as well as the VP of Engineering. Key Responsibilities Technical & Engineering Prepare technical work plans, proposals and develop pricing. Review and interpret CPT results, boring logs, and pore pressure dissipation data to ensure ground improvement meets design criteria. Oversee the deployment of automated seismographs to measure Peak Particle Velocity (PPV). You will interpret attenuation curves to ensure operations are safe for nearby structures. Work with clients and engineers to demonstrate how dynamic compaction can reduce or eliminate the need for expensive deep foundations or off-site soil removal.
Operational & Logistics Fleet Management:
Coordinate the mobilization and logistics of our heavy equipment fleet.Production Tracking:
Monitor daily production reports (drop counts, grid completion) to track project progress against the schedule.Project Management Estimating & Bidding:
Prepare accurate estimates and proposals for incoming opportunities.Cost Control:
Manage project costs, including coding labor and fuel to the correct phase codes for profitability tracking.Qualifications Licensure:
Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.Education:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Construction Management.Technical Skills:
3-5 years experience with AutoCAD® or similar software.Experience:
Previous experience in geotechnical construction, deep foundations, or earthwork is highly preferred.Compensation & Benefits Salary:
