Job Description

The Golf Course Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the daily upkeep, playability, and overall appearance of the course. This role involves operating turf equipment, performing routine landscaping tasks, assisting with irrigation maintenance, and ensuring that all playing surfaces meet established standards for quality and safety. The technician plays a key part in creating an exceptional experience for golfers by maintaining a clean, well groomed, and professionally presented course environment.
Pay Rate:
$19.05 per hour Major Duties/Specific Tasks Supports daily maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and landscaped areas to ensure consistent course playability and appearance. Operates mowers, utility vehicles, sand trap rakes, line trimmers, blowers, and other turf care equipment safely and efficiently. Performs routine equipment care including lubrication, fluid checks, filter changes, and minor adjustments to keep machinery in reliable working condition. Replace simple wear items such as belts, hoses, trimmer line, and chainsaw chains to support uninterrupted operations. Loads, unloads, and organizes tools, materials, and equipment needed for daily assignments or transport. Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe maintenance shop and equipment storage areas. Performs general labor tasks including raking, shoveling, debris removal, bunker maintenance, and other physical work essential to course upkeep. Communicate effectively to supervisors' maintenance activities, equipment servicing, and repairs as necessary. Identifies and reports unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or hazards to supervisory staff. Participates in staff meetings, safety briefings, and in service training sessions. Assists in training seasonal or part time staff on basic equipment checks, lubrication, and safe operation. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent. Minimum Qualifications Must be age 18 or over. High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and in environments with dust, noise, and active equipment. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 75 pounds, bending, stooping, climbing, and working in physically demanding positions. Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn minor equipment care and simple repairs. Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with supervisors and coworkers. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Willingness to work a variable schedule, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver's license with a safe driving record; ability to operate course vehicles and equipment after training. Possesses a Certified Spray Applicator license or has the ability to obtain a Registered Technicians Certification under the Golf Course Superintendent within the first year of employment. (employer funded training and certification). Required to wear the approved uniform in accordance with company policy. Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
