Job Description
Dateline Resources Limited is an Australian-owned mining company currently developing its 100% owned Colosseum Gold and Rare Earths Project in San Bernardino County, California. With construction planned from mid-2026 and production targeted for mid-2027, the Colosseum Project represents a significant opportunity within a Tier 1 mining jurisdiction. The project includes a 1.1Moz gold mineral resource, and additional potential for rare earth mineralisation that is geologically linked to the nearby Mountain Pass Rare Earth Mine. The Colosseum Mine is located in the Walker Lane Trend within California with two existing open pits that were mined from 1930-1993, with gold mineralization first discovered in 1865. The Colosseum deposit is located at the southern end of the Sevier foreland thrust belt in the southern Basin and Range Province. This is an opportunity to join an exciting project from commencement, and to play a key role in establishing a world-class gold and rare earths development in California. About the role We are seeking an experienced Graduate Geologist (Junior) to responsible for picking up and laying out drill core, RQD, assisting with core logging, preparing sample dispatches, and other duties as required. The role involves assisting in field mapping, sampling, drill pad prep, data interpretation, and reporting to support exploration and resource development objectives. The role is based on site full time, working a 4 days, 3 days off roster. Successful applicants will currently reside locally in Las Vegas, Nevada or be willing to relocate if successful.
Key responsibilities include:
Core Logging Laying out drill core and reviewing with exploration geologists Measure and record RQD data Assist with logging RC, diamond, aircore, or reverse circulation drill holes Perform XRF scans of samples and record data Photograph and manage photo storage naming in online database Identify geological structures, lithologies, alteration, and mineralisation and record into database Prepare sample dispatches for assay Assisting with Drill Program Management Assist in the execution of drilling programs (RC, DD, AC) Assist drill contractors and drill crews with geology needs Spotting and marking drill collars with GPS Collecting drill core from drill rigs mid shift Prepare samples for dispatch Reporting & Communication Communicate with exploration geologists to assist with core logging and key observations identified Contribute to identification of key geologic structures and features Communicate with drill crews and relay to exploration geologists Health, Safety, Environment and Community (HSEC) Comply with company HSEC policies and procedures Actively participate a strong safety culture in the field Identify and report hazards, incidents, and near misses Ensure environmental and heritage compliance during exploration activities Participate in safety interactions with drilling and other contractors About you Essential Bachelor's degree in Geology or Earth Sciences 0-2 years' experience in mineral exploration Strong understanding of geology and mineral identification Basic understanding of exploration techniques and mineral systems Valid driver's licence Willingness to work in remote locations and on rostered schedule Desirable Experience with specific commodities (e.g., gold, REE, other) Experience laying out and logging diamond drill core Experience with 3D geological modelling software First Aid and field safety certifications Please apply now to join us in shaping this exciting project.
