Job Description

  • Master, Bachelor, or Associate of Science in Nursing or graduate of approved diploma program.

  • Required to pass boards within 6 months of receiving MSN, BSN, ASN or diploma.
  • BLS required within 30 days of hire.
Area of Responsibilities
    TEAM MEMBER
    Acts as a resource to new employees and other personnel. Assists other staff members in providing care. Demonstrates the ability to work safely and responsibly under supervision. Timely attendance at unit staff meeting and mandatory in-services. Shows consideration for Team by reporting on time for shift and taking only allotted time for breaks. Assists in control and maintenance of supplies and equipment•

    Demonstrates knowledge of physiologic norms and developmental level and signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect. Able to assess, interpret data, communicate, adapt techniques and treatments, educate and involve patients/families in

    • COMMUNICATION AND CARING
      Communicates with RNs, LPNs and other members of health care team respectfully. Demonstrates caring behavior to patients, family, physicians, visitors and other hospital personnel. Documents care in Meditech in compliance with hospital policy and procedures and regulatory agency requirements.
    PATIENT CARE
    Performs basic patient care attending to physical and emotional needs of the patient in a family oriented environment. Sets priorities and utilizes time appropriately. Requests assistance from experienced nurses and other health team members as appropriate. Recognizes changes in patent's condition and reports to RN. Requests assistance as necessary. Understands and operates basic equipment used routinely on the unit.•
    PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
    Demonstrates knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Evaluates self and meets pre-established professional goals. Participates in required annual hospital wide and continuing education Completes performance assessment and competency evaluation sheetCompliance StatementEmployee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program.
