Job Description The Grants Compliance Coordinator plays a critical role in managing the financial administration of grants for Goodwill Industries of the Summit and subsidiaries. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate records of grant-related financial transactions, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with funder requirements, and supporting program staff with budget management. The Grants Compliance Coordinator also serves as the go-to for troubleshooting financial issues related to grant funding and internal procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Grant Oversight & Compliance:
Ensure accurate tracking and usage of grant-related funds in accordance with regulatory and donor requirements. Assist with the preparation of grant budgets and financial plans that align with programmatic needs. Monitor expenditures throughout the lifecycle of the grant, ensuring timely and appropriate use of funds. Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial data during grant proposal development. Stay informed on federal and state regulations and ensure institutional compliance. Maintain well-organized financial documentation to support internal and external audits. Integrate grant data into existing accounting systems to streamline tracking and reporting.
Financial Reporting & Account Reconciliation:
Prepare detailed financial reports for funders and internal stakeholders. Conduct monthly and quarterly reconciliations to ensure that financial records reflect actual activity. Support timely processing of reimbursements and interdepartmental transfers. Monitor and track all financial activities related to grants, including federal, state, and private funding. Maintain accurate and organized grant files, including budgets, contracts, amendments, and reports. Assist in the preparation of financial reports for grantors in compliance with their reporting requirements and deadlines. Assist in the preparation of grant proposal budgets and modifications in collaboration with development and program staff. Review expenses to ensure compliance with grant terms and organizational policies. Support audits and monitoring visits by providing necessary financial documentation and responding to inquiries. Provide budget-to-actual reports to program staff and management and assist with variance analysis. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Two (2) or more years of experience in grant management. Two (2) or more years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in a non-profit setting. Must have ability to pass criminal background check. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess the following: Strong understanding of non-profit grant funding. Knowledge of federal and state grant compliance standards. Solid accounting background with hands-on experience in financial reporting and reconciliation. Experience with grant compliance and reporting (federal and/or private grants). Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite software. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Commitment to the mission and values of Goodwill Industries of the Summit. Additional Information Beginning rate of pay is between $20 and $25 per hour, depending upon experience.
