Role Overview We are seeking a highly visual Graphic Designer who excels at communicating ideas quickly and effectively through design. This role is responsible for creating compelling digital and print creative that captures attention, simplifies complex messaging, and drives customer action across marketing, brand, and customer experience channels. The ideal candidate understands that strong design is not just about aesthetics — it is about clarity, hierarchy, emotion, and conversion. This designer should be able to take a message and turn it into visually engaging creative that customers can understand within seconds. This role will support campaigns across email marketing, digital advertising, customer communications, presentations, and brand materials while ensuring consistency across all touchpoints. As part of a small team, you'll often find yourself wearing multiple hats and stepping outside the usual boundaries of the job description to support the company's growth and success. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong writing and design skills and a strategic mindset, who excels in a fast-paced environment and can effectively manage multiple communication channels while adapting to evolving priorities with agility Key Responsibilities Design visually impactful creative assets for: Email campaigns Digital advertising Brand collateral Customer communications Internal presentations and marketing materials Translate business goals and messaging into clear, customer-focused visual design.
Create designs that prioritize:
Fast message comprehension Strong visual hierarchy Conversion-focused layouts Mobile-first readability Brand consistency Collaborate with marketing, CX, compliance, and leadership teams to develop campaign creative and customer experiences. Maintain and evolve brand guidelines, templates, and visual systems. Balance speed and quality in a fast-paced marketing environment. Participate in creative brainstorming and contribute innovative design concepts. Optimize creative based on performance data, engagement metrics, and customer behavior. Required Skills Visual Communication Strong understanding of how to visually communicate a message quickly and effectively Ability to simplify complex ideas into clean, digestible creative Exceptional understanding of layout, spacing, typography, and hierarchy Strong eye for composition and modern design trends Design Execution Advanced proficiency in: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) Figma (preferred) Canva Experience designing for both desktop and mobile environments Strong understanding of responsive email, digital design best practices, and physical mailers Ability to create high-volume creative while maintaining a sharp eye for detail and commitment to quality Marketing & Customer Experience Understanding Understanding of direct-response marketing principles Ability to design creative that drives engagement and conversion Experience supporting brand and customer experience initiatives Familiarity with A/B testing concepts and performance-driven design Understanding or experience in small dollar lending and financial services products (preferred) Collaboration & Communication Strong communication and presentation skills Ability to receive feedback and iterate quickly Strong organizational and time-management abilities Comfortable working cross-functionally with marketing, CX, operations, and leadership teams Preferred Qualifications 2-5 years of graphic design experience in: Marketing Creative agency Brand design Customer experience Digital media Portfolio demonstrating: Strong visual storytelling Conversion-focused design Email and digital campaign creative Brand consistency across channels Experience working in fast-paced, high-output environments Basic knowledge of
HTML/CSS
for email or web design is a plus Experience with motion graphics, video editing, or AI creative tools is a plus Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Marketing, Fine Arts, or related field preferred Equivalent professional experience and strong portfolio may substitute for formal education Success Traits Obsessed with visual clarity and customer attention span Thinks beyond "making it look good" and focuses on message effectiveness Naturally understands how customers scan content Fast, adaptable, and solutions-oriented Passionate about branding, storytelling, and customer experience Keeps up with modern digital and marketing design trends You notice the small things others miss.
