About the Role We're looking for a creative, hands-on Graphic Designer & Sign Production Specialist to join our team full-time. This is a dual-function role — you will both design and produce. You'll take customer concepts from idea to finished product, handling everything from digital artwork and file prep to printing, cutting, laminating, and installation across a wide range of sign and graphic products — including vinyl graphics applied to vehicles, storefronts, and other surfaces. A key part of this role involves the production of regulatory and traffic control signage using reflective sheeting and aluminum substrates — an area where we have an established customer base and are actively growing. This is a ground floor opportunity. AB Sign Works is expanding, and we're looking for someone who wants to grow with us. This role offers real advancement potential as we build toward a regional and national presence in the sign and graphics market.

FIELD:

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design & Customer Branding Create artwork for signs, banners, coroplast signs, decals, and promotional products Develop logos, brand identities, and marketing collateral for customers Prepare and package print-ready files meeting production specifications (bleed, resolution, color profiles) Work directly with customers to understand project goals, gather feedback, and deliver polished results Design vehicle decals and storefront graphics as needed Traffic & Regulatory Sign Production Produce regulatory and informational signs including no parking, work zone, and temporary traffic control signage Work with reflective sheeting materials in compliance with applicable standards Cut, apply, and finish signage on aluminum substrates Fulfill orders for an established customer base in the traffic control and roadway safety market Sign Production, Fabrication & Installation Operate HP wide-format printer for banners, coroplast signs, decals, and printed graphics (experience with other brands welcome) Use Summa vinyl cutter for lettering, decals, and custom graphics (experience with other brands welcome) Operate table-style laminators for finishing and protecting printed materials Use Colex router/cutter for cutting various materials and substrates (experience with other brands welcome) Install vinyl graphics on vehicles, storefronts, windows, walls, and other surfaces with precision and a clean finish Inspect finished products for quality before delivery or installation Promotional Products & Branding Source, coordinate, and produce promotional items for customers Apply branding elements to promotional products accurately and consistently Support customers with product selection and brand application guidance

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Flexi-Sign, CorelDRAW, or comparable design software Hands-on experience with wide-format printers — HP experience preferred; other brands acceptable Experience operating vinyl cutters — Summa preferred; other brands acceptable Working knowledge of table-style laminators and finishing equipment Ability to install vinyl graphics on vehicles, storefronts, and various surfaces cleanly and accurately Familiarity with reflective sheeting materials and aluminum substrate preparation Strong understanding of color management, file types, and print production workflows Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines simultaneously Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in both design and production Clear communication skills with customers and internal team members Education & Experience Minimum 2-3 years of practical experience in sign making, graphic design, or a related production role A degree is not required — demonstrated hands-on skill and a strong portfolio matter most Experience with traffic or regulatory sign production is a strong plus Experience with Colex or similar router/cutter equipment is a plus Familiarity with promotional products and branded merchandise is a plus

$35,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
