Greenhouse Maintenace

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dependable Greenhouse Maintenance Professional to oversee the physical infrastructure, irrigation networks, climate systems, and utility equipment at our facility. In this role, you will ensure optimal growing conditions and smooth facility operations by maintaining greenhouse structures, repairing production machinery, handling freight, and keeping the entire property well-maintained. Key Responsibilities 1.

Structural & Climate Control Maintenance Poly & Shade Installation:

Install, stretch, secure, and patch polyethylene greenhouse roof coverings and seasonal shade cloths. Patch roofs

Roof Coating:

Apply white shading paint to roofs to reflect summer heat and wash off seasonally.

Cooling Systems:

Maintain and service cooling pads, water pumps, and motorized curtain systems. Clean tanks and walls.

Heating Systems:

Maintain and service propane gas heaters

Ventilation Systems:

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on exhaust fans, inflation fans, and horizontal airflow (HAF) fans. Replace serpintine belts on exhaust fans as part of routine maintenance. 2.

Equipment, Machinery & Vehicle Mechanics Production Machinery:

Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on soil mixing and potting machines.

Fleet Upkeep:

Conduct routine service, oil changes, and basic repairs on tractors, forklift, golf carts, and chemical spray rigs. Good record keeping.

Groundskeeping Tools:

Service small engines, sharpen blades, and maintain commercial mowers and edgers. 3.

Irrigation & Plumbing System Installation:

Lay PVC lines, install main lines, and set up drip or overhead misting systems.

Troubleshooting:

Diagnose system leaks, replace faulty solenoid valves, repair and replace broken water lines and valves. 4.

Logistics, Operations & Groundskeeping Forklift Operation:

Safely operate and perform daily maintenance checks on forklifts.

Freight Handling:

Load and unload shipping materials, plants, and supplies from semi-trucks.

Production Support:

Assist the production team with the soil-making and mixing process when needed. Move pallets of soil to designated areas.

Property Upkeep:

Maintain all grounds, lawns, and landscaping surrounding the greenhouses, offices, and auxiliary buildings. 5. Miscellaneous Keep shop and work areas organized at clean at all times. Keep golfcarts, tractors and spray equipment clean at all times. Maintain safe OSHA workplace regulations and follow safety policies and procedures set forth by the company. Good, detailed record keeping of all repairs and maintenance performed Hurricane prep.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Labor Intensive:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.

Heights & Weather:

Comfortable working on ladders or scaffolding in hot, humid greenhouse environments.

Pay:

From $19.00 per hour
