Grocery store: Meat manager/meat cutter

Job Summary Join our dynamic grocery retail team as a Meat Manager/Cutter, where you will be at the forefront of providing high-quality meat products and exceptional customer service. This role combines skilled meat cutting, food preparation, and food safety practices to ensure our customers receive fresh, delicious options. You will oversee daily operations in the meat department, manage product presentation, and support a team dedicated to culinary excellence. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where customers feel confident in their choices and inspired by our offerings. Duties Prepare and cut a variety of meats with precision using professional knife skills and meat cutting techniques. Ensure all food handling and food safety standards are strictly followed to maintain product quality and compliance. Package meat products efficiently for display or sale, ensuring proper labeling and freshness. Assist customers by providing knowledgeable advice on meat selections, cooking tips, and meal ideas to enhance their shopping experience. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the meat department, including sanitation of equipment and work surfaces. Monitor inventory levels, restock displays, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure product availability. Support food production and preparation tasks as needed within the department or in related areas like kitchen or culinary stations. Requirements Proven experience in food production, food preparation, or meat cutting within a retail setting. Strong knife skills and expertise in meat cutting techniques to handle various cuts confidently. Knowledge of food safety regulations, food service and sanitation certification and proper food handling procedures essential for maintaining hygiene standards. Food Service Sanitation class will be paid for if you're not already certified. Previous experience in the grocery industry is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and assist shoppers enthusiastically. Ability to work efficiently in a small town environment while maintaining attention to detail.
