Job Description
Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students from PreK through 12th grade as an Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. Engage with a diverse student population and help foster their growth in both fine and gross motor skills within a dynamic school environment that values your expertise. This position begins with orientation on Friday, June 5, and runs from Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 26. Please note there is no school on Friday, June 19. Your schedule aligns well with work-life balance, with student attendance from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and staff hours from 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., leaving afternoons free for your other pursuits. You'll make a direct impact by working hands-on with students, collaborating closely with educational teams, and supporting students' progress toward their individualized goals.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Current credentials as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Experience in school-based, home health, or pediatric healthcare occupational therapy settings Proficiency in addressing fine and gross motor skills development Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families Ability to adapt strategies for various ages and educational needs, from preschoolers to high schoolers Commitment to supporting diverse learners with compassion and expertiseKey Responsibilities:
Evaluate students' needs and design effective intervention strategies for motor skill development Deliver direct therapy services, both one-on-one and in group sessions Coordinate with teachers and school staff to support and monitor student progress Document services and communicate results with families and interdisciplinary teams Maintain compliance with professional guidelines and school policies This short-term contract offers an excellent chance to make a difference during a focused summer session.
