Group Facilitator

Position Overview Xplore Recovery is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and clinically skilled Weekend Wilderness/Adventure Group Therapist to facilitate therapeutic group experiences for clients in recovery through nature-based and experiential interventions. This unique position combines traditional group therapy with outdoor adventure and wellness activities designed to promote emotional growth, recovery, resilience, connection, and healthy coping skills. This role is ideal for clinicians who enjoy working in dynamic environments, appreciate the healing benefits of nature, and are passionate about helping individuals build confidence and recovery skills through experiential therapy. The position consists of one 4-hour shift on either Saturday or Sunday, with additional PRN opportunities available based on program needs and therapist availability. Primary Responsibilities Facilitate therapeutic group sessions for individuals in recovery using evidence-based and experiential approaches. Lead or co-facilitate outdoor therapeutic activities such as; Hiking, Kayaking, Nature walks, Team-building exercises, Adventure-based recovery activities Mindfulness and wellness experiences in outdoor settings Adapt programming based on weather and safety conditions, utilizing engaging indoor therapeutic activities when outdoor participation is not feasible.

Process therapeutic themes related to:

Recovery and relapse prevention Emotional regulation Communication and interpersonal effectiveness Self-esteem and confidence building Trauma-informed coping strategies Stress management and mindfulness Maintain appropriate clinical documentation and group notes per organizational and regulatory standards. Ensure client safety during experiential activities and maintain professional therapeutic boundaries. Collaborate with the treatment team to support continuity of care and individualized treatment goals.

Qualifications Required:

Master's degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or related behavioral health field. Active or associate-level licensure in Tennessee, including but not limited to:

LCSW LMSW LPC-MHSP / LPC LAPC LMFT MFT

Other eligible behavioral health or addiction licenses/certifications Experience facilitating group therapy with mental health and/or substance use populations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to engage clients in both structured and experiential therapeutic environments.

Preferred:

Experience in substance use treatment, dual diagnosis, or behavioral health settings. Interest or experience in adventure therapy, wilderness therapy, recreation therapy, mindfulness, or experiential interventions. Familiarity with hiking, kayaking, or outdoor wellness activities. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Pay:

$50.00 - $70.00 per hour
