Job Description:
As a Fitness Trainer at Spine Mountain Physical Therapy and Wellness Studio, you will play an important role in guiding clients toward safe, effective, and enjoyable movement. You will lead small group fitness classes in one or more formats (strength training, mat Pilates, yoga, mobility/flexibility) while ensuring every participant receives the encouragement and guidance they need to feel confident and successful. Responsibilities Design and lead small group classes tailored to the needs and abilities of participants, incorporating appropriate modifications when needed. Provide attentive coaching, ensuring proper form, safe technique, and a positive movement experience for all clients. Educate clients on exercise technique, body awareness, and the benefits of physical activity. Foster a welcoming, supportive environment where clients feel motivated and comfortable. Maintain a clean and organized studio space, ensuring equipment is sanitized and in good working order. Arrive prepared for each class by reviewing or creating class templates in advance and be on-site at least 15 minutes before class begins. Give advance notice of any changes in schedule that affect availability to teach classes. 8. Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and research in fitness training for aging populations, continuously improving knowledge and skills. Expectations Demonstrate punctuality and professionalism in all interactions with clients and colleagues. Strive to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters growth and progress for all clients. 3. Welcome feedback and seek opportunities for self-improvement, staying open to new ideas and approaches. 4. Uphold the values and mission of Spine Mountain Physical Therapy and Wellness Studio, promoting health and wellness to help people move better, feel better, and live better. Qualifications 1. Certification in personal training or group fitness instruction from a nationally recognized organization (e.g., ACE, NASM, ACSM,). 2. Experience teaching group fitness classes in one or more types of formats: strength training, Pilates, yoga, mobility/flexibility. 3. Knowledge of exercise science, anatomy, and movement principles, with the ability to modify exercises for different fitness levels. 4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and support clients of diverse ages and abilities. 5. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring). 6. A genuine passion for health and wellness with a commitment to helping people improve their quality of life through movement.
