SEEKING CANDIDATES WHO CAN START IMMEDIATELY

Animal World & Snake Farm Zoo is looking to for a candidate to join our dynamic team, assisting with checking guests in for animal encounters and guiding them to encounter areas. This staff member will be responsible for keeping up-to-date with ongoing encounter bookings and keeping a positive and welcoming atmosphere for guests. This position is currently seasonal for Memorial Day weekend through August, 20-35 hours per week. Applicants need to have available weekends. Typical shifts will be 10-6, but may be subject to change. This candidate will provide fantastic customer service to our guests and good communication with staff members in the zoo. The ideal candidate will be able to be outside and moving for long periods of time. They will be comfortable using a two-way radio for communication and speaking with guests. Comfort with using Google Docs and similar platforms is critical. Comfort learning commonly-asked questions, such as show times, navigation, etc., will be expected. This position may be eligible to progress and learn to do animal encounters and presentations, primarily with reptiles.

EDUCATION AND PRE-REQUISITES

The successful candidate will have excellent public interaction and communication skills and display comfort working near ambassador animals, including reptiles. Candidates will need to have good communication skills, be able to follow specific instructions, and communicate activities and observations clearly in writing and verbally. Physical requirements include working outdoors in any weather and walking. Candidates selected for interviews will be able to choose within a block of time for a brief on-site interview.

This is a part time seasonal position that involves working on weekends and holidays (except Christmas).
