Guest House Housekeeper - PT

Join our Guest House Team at Davidson College! The Carnegie Guest House is a bed and breakfast located on Davidson's campus. Guests are typically alumni of the college, parents of current students, or prospective students and their families. We are seeking a positive individual to perform general housekeeping, interact with our overnight guests, help set up breakfast each morning, occasionally helping with guest check-in, and support the supervising staff with day to day operations. The position is part-time for 20 hours per week (4 hours per day for 5 days a week). Successful candidates will be able to work weekends. Basic computer skills are a plus. This position will be called upon to work independently at times. The Guest House team is a small, close-knit group and Davidson College is a terrific place to work!

Responsibilities:

Clean, scrub, mop, shampoo and polish floors Clean walls, windows, woodwork, venetian blinds, fixtures, carpets, entrance/exit mats and other surfaces. Sweep and clean walkways Clean showers and tubs Clean and disinfect restrooms Empty trash containers and sanitize such containers to meet college standards and sanitary requirements on a as needed basis. Change attachments to necessary equipment and perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment/tools. Pull trash and recycling and place in assigned locations for pick up. Keep inventory of tools and supplies needed to complete all necessary task Occasional weekends Maintain a welcoming environment for students/staff/guests Maintain good employee relations Makeovers/clean for guest rooms

Required Qualifications:

HS Diploma and minimum one year experience Willingness to take directions but able to assess needs and take action when necessary Ability to work well as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:
