We provide public safety, public works, community and economic development, parks & recreation and many other important public services to a growing community.
Operate cash register, computer, I.D. equipment, and cleaning equipment.
Receives and routes phone calls, takes and distributes messages. Greet and refer visitors to proper persons or areas, provide general information, and answer routine questions regarding general services, programs, and procedures.
Assist patrons in completing forms and applications that require standard information. Operate office equipment to assist in the completion of tasks/functions.
Accept mail-in registrations for participants in recreational programs, activities, classes, and lessons. Follow all established procedures to process registrations. Coordinates efforts to ensure the City of Maple Grove is an equitable, inclusive, and respectful organization and supports the City's mission, vision, and core values. Demonstrates ability to understand and respect the diversity of customers and co-workers, effectively communicating with individuals whose first language may be one other than English.

NATURE OF WORK
The Maple Grove Community Center is seeking applicants for a Guest Service who is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service for the Community Center patrons while developing positive working environment with the public and employees. Duties require general clerical skills including computer data entry, answering incoming phone calls, collecting admission fees, and directing visitors to appropriate locations of the building. HOURSPart-time hours, 5-15 hours/week, weekends and some evenings.EXAMPLE OF DUTIES ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

ABILITY TO
To develop positive working relationships with the public and fellow employees. To work under pressure and remain calm and pleasant under stressful situations. To operate a cash register and use simple math skills. Willingness to learn effective sales techniques. To work in a moderately noisy environment. To observe the public in corridors and front area.
