Guest Services serves as an onsite contact for all guests, providing the utmost hospitality. In this role, you are the first point of contact for our guests and will be responsible for answering their inquiries, resolving complaints and concerns, reservations, checking guests in and out. Therefore, it is critical to understand guest needs and acquire an extensive knowledge of the premises, Hinton activities, and community-based businesses and activities. The Guest Services person works for the Director of Guest Experience (DGE) and helps to meet the needs of guests on campus typically after regular office hours and on weekends. Assist with amenities like gift shop, recreational equipment, maintaining facilities and grounds, and fulfilling special guest requests.Primary Functions:
1. Provide hospitality to visitors and guests at Hinton Center including welcoming guests as they arrive to check-in and as they check-out. 2. Handle guest complaints, resolving issues in a timely professional manner. Regularly, maintain a written log of guest issues including date and time of notification, description of issue, resolution, time and date of resolution. Report any unresolved issues as soon as possible. 3. Open and operate gift shop. As directed, purchase appropriate stock including ministry t-shirts as needed. Performs monthly financial duties including closing out the month, paying bills, paying consigners, and conducting an annual audit. Limit cash in drawer and secure excess in Administration Office as directed. 4. Ensure lodging is ready for guests before their arrival by coordinating with housekeeping and maintenance staff to ensure lodging is clean and functioning properly. Post welcome signs, unlock buildings, turning on lights inside and outside, and adjusting HVAC. 5. Turn on and off all water heating, heat/ac, other systems, lights and empty trash cans, noting any needs for maintenance or repairs on a checklist, for all facilities after they leave. 6. Coordinate with DOO to determine calendar of groups, payments owed, time of arrival, and meeting space needs. 7. Answer in-coming call with a hospitable greeting and respond to inquiries encouraging the individual to make a reservation at Hinton Center. 8. Collect fees from groups and secure money at time of collection, as needed. 9. Carry cell phone when guests are onsite or scheduled to register so that you can be reached by guests. This may include carrying a cell phone afterhours in which you will be compensated for the time it takes for notification and rectification of task. 10. Make reservations on Camp Brain and Airbnb for individual guests. Receive a deposit for stay and prepare a guest file. 11. Maintain a clean and organized Welcome Center including desk area. 12. When guests leave, check lodging for tidiness and damage, check and lock all windows, turn off lights, adjustHVAC. 13.
Safely and legally operate vehicle. 14. This position requires that you have reliable transportation to and from the work location for all scheduled shifts. 15. Follow plan of action provided by DGE to address guest and repair and maintenance issues in a timely and professional manner. 16. Obtain and maintain first aid and CPR certification. 17. Assist DGE in building and grounds maintenance as needed including but not limited to the gardens in front of the Admin building, Hope Garden, and Swing Garden. 18. Daily, clean and restock hospitality room, cleaning out refrigerator as needed and emptying trash. 19. Active member of Hinton's Safety Team participating in training, following safety procedures, and encouraging a safe work environment at all times 20. Maintains a safe work environment for themselves, colleagues, and guests. 21. Promotes a positive work environment by treating all co-workers and guests with dignity and respect. And follows chain of command to foster efficient and effective communication.Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent work history is required. Applicant must have a clean driving record.Physical Requirements:
