Job Description
This is a part-time position working at the Town's Community Center and Civic Space, which is open year-round. Workweek and working hours vary with assignments Monday through Sunday and include evenings, weekends, and select holidays. The Guest Services Associate provides administrative, reception and program support for the Town's Community Center and Civic Space. The position requires frequent patron and customer contact both in person and on the phone. This position works under the supervision of the Recreation Supervisor - Facilities in conjunction with the Guest Services Specialist, and is non-exempt under FLSA. Guest Services Associate I - Under immediate supervision, this is the entry-level class in the Guest Services Associate series. Incumbents entering the class have minimal directly related work experience. Generally, work is observed and reviewed both during performance and upon completion.
Hiring Range:
$18.20 - $19.50 Depending on Qualifications Provides initial patron contact, determines and provides patron with assistance. Welcomes and checks-in facility users, directing patrons to appropriate rooms. Processes program registrations and facility rentals. Remains proficient and knowledgeable of PROS department program offerings, policies, and procedures. Enforces policies, rules, and regulations governing the conduct of patrons using the Community Center, Civic Space, and the surrounding outdoor areas. Manages the phone activity including providing general knowledge to callers or transferring to appropriate departments. Assists recreation staff in their duties and assignments. Conducts facility tours emphasizing programs, events, and offerings in the Town. Performs facility opening and closing procedures. Performs clerical duties including typing, filing, office machine operation, recreation software operation including cash handling and maintenance of records. Represents the Town of Superior in a positive, professional manner to the community. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with community members and staff built around Parks and Recreation department's core values. Maintains common workspace and office equipment. Assists in maintaining cleanliness of facility. Performs and maintains accountability for end of shift financial reconciliation. Contributes to a positive work environment. Provides assistance with the Town's special events. Requires clerical skills and the ability to undertake multiple tasks simultaneously. Requires the ability to adapt between fast and slower paced environments. General knowledge of current office practices, methods, and procedures. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to positively interact with the public including handling stressful situations. Ability to efficiently coordinate many activities and work effectively with other staff in a positive work environment. Ability to use office equipment including computers, cash registers, and phone systems. Ability to respond and act accordingly to needs of the building and patrons in case of emergency.Special License, Registration, or Certification Required:
Guest Services Associate I - Minimum of six (6) months of experience in customer service with computer and phone skills required. Experience with cash handling desirable. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Current certifications in First Aid and CPR/AED required.Work Environment:
Most of the work will be indoor at the Community Center and Civic Space. The employee regularly works in an environment which will include exposure to noise and occasional stressful situations. This position requires some work to be performed outdoors during Town events which will include exposure to all types of weather and conditions.Similar remote jobs
