About the role: You will build internal AI systems for NQB8 and Flex Capital. These tools will support over 200 amazing startups. This role is for someone who thrives on variety, ships insanely quickly, and is genuinely excited about applying AI and automation. You'll be embedded with both the NQB8 and Flex teams. Flex Capital:

NQB8 is a venture studio and holding company building generational, zero-to-one technology businesses. We start ~4 new companies a year. Flex Capital, is a seed-stage $200M venture capital firm backing 50+ companies a year. Across both, there is constant demand for fast, scrappy technical work. Internal tools, prototypes, agents, automations that do not fit neatly into any particular roadmap. We're looking for a Hacker-in-Residence to own that work. What you'll do: Build AI tooling. Design, ship, and orchestrate agents and automations that make NQB8 and Flex 10x faster and 50x more effective. Anything currently done manually that can be done better. Be the in-house AI expert. Ship stuff that makes us faster. If it can be hacked together in a week and meaningfully unblocks the team, it's yours.

Who you are:

You are in the top 10% of software engineers you've ever worked with (which also means you are completely AI pilled). You are ahead of the curve with the latest AI tools. You build agents regularly (including in your personal life) and can discuss what you build You push pace, work insanely fast, and work crazy hours. You are based in the DC area and can work in-person 5 days a week in Northern Virginia. A car is necessary to get to our office. Remote will not be considered. You have an extreme bias for action and like to move fast. You think life is too short to work with B-players. You want to work with an elite team that is as talented and dedicated as you. You are mission-oriented. You don't need supervision to thrive. You think in first principles, know the right questions to ask, and can develop and execute on a vision. You communicate clearly and succinctly. You can manage multiple changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. You have strong instincts and clear opinions about agent architecture.

Compensation:

$180,000-$220,000/year + equity
