00103582 Internal/External Position Description- Live-in position that will report to the Director for Residence Life.
- Includes night and weekend hours equating to approximately 15-20 hours per week.
- Will be expected to serve a minimum of 10 hours visible in the residence halls per week.
- Contributes to an emergency on-duty rotation to serve as the point person in crisis situations. Will rotate on call weeks and weekends with other live-on staff (3-4 others serving in rotation) including regular semester breaks and holidays.
- Supervises a student staff consisting of one Assistant Hall Director (AHDs) and a staff of up to nine Resident Assistants (RAs) in their day-to-day duties including bi-weekly one-on-ones and staff meetings.
- Participates in the planning and execution of Fall and Spring RA training.
- Works with RAs to contribute to and create community within their residence halls.
- Communicates regularly with building services staff within assigned residence halls.
- Assists with the RA and AHD selection process from recruitment to selection and training.
- Assists the Director and Assistant Director for Residence Life with regular office functions.
- Serves as conduct officer for first-time offense policy violations.
- Procures, creates, and edits digital content according to NDUS and VCSU digital accessibility standards and policies.
- Some other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience engaging with college-aged students
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong administrative and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in collegiate residence life or housing
- Supervisory experience Compensation
- $1,250 per month ($15,000 annually)
- Furnished Apartment (value of $7,200+ annually)
