Job Description
Job Title:
Hand Weaver Job Description This entry-level Hand Weaver role supports an advanced aerospace textile manufacturing facility by performing precise hand weaving operations that produce specialized 3D and helical fabrics used in aerospace applications. You will work with proprietary, cutting-edge equipment in a clean, climate-controlled environment while gaining hands-on manufacturing experience and building a niche, in-demand skill set in aerospace composites. Responsibilities Perform hand weaving operations accurately according to verbal, written, and diagram-based instructions. Set up workstations based on style specifications, job requirements, and production schedules. Inspect products during production cycles, identify defects, and document findings clearly and accurately. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and orderliness of work areas, returning tools and equipment to designated locations. Follow all Work Instructions (WI's) and Job Safety Analyses (JSA's) to ensure consistent quality and safety. Communicate promptly with Leads and Engineering regarding discrepancies, product issues, or station malfunctions. Notify management of product defects, equipment issues, or safety concerns as they arise. Meet daily production goals while maintaining established quality standards and safety expectations. Work safely and efficiently, consistently aligning with company procedures and performance expectations. Collaborate with team members in a small, cross-functional environment and assist with tasks outside the core job description when needed. Use basic math skills and measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure products meet specifications. Sustain focus and attention to detail during detailed, repetitive weaving tasks over extended periods. Essential Skills Ability to read, understand, and follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions in English. Good eyesight, with corrective lenses acceptable, to perform detailed inspection and weaving work. Ability to sit for long periods while maintaining focus on detailed, repetitive tasks. Ability to concentrate for extended durations without losing accuracy or quality. Basic math skills, including working with fractions, decimals, and percentages. Ability to read and use a tape measure or ruler accurately. Physical ability to bend, lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds as needed. Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for fine, precise weaving and handling of materials. Comfort working in a production environment that includes carbon fiber and fiberglass materials, with appropriate PPE. Willingness to follow all safety procedures and consistently use required personal protective equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior textile, weaving, or hand-craft experience is beneficial. Previous manufacturing or general production experience is an advantage. Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain an orderly workstation. Effective time-management skills to meet daily production targets. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify issues and escalate them appropriately. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and communicate clearly with Leads, Engineering, and Operations. Interest in learning proprietary, advanced machinery and processes in aerospace textiles. Motivation to grow into higher-level roles through structured training and on-the-job learning. Why Work Here? You join a stable, specialized aerospace textile organization that offers a true entry-level pathway into advanced manufacturing, with structured training and clear opportunities for growth. The company provides a climate-controlled, clean, and relatively quiet work environment compared to typical manufacturing settings, along with a small-team culture that supports learning and development. You gain rare, resume-boosting experience working with proprietary equipment and advanced materials, while building a unique, hands-on skill set in aerospace textiles. The product mix and industry focus support consistent workload and long-term stability, with monthly incentive bonuses based on production performance and a defined path for increasing your earnings as your skills develop. Work Environment The facility is temperature-controlled with LED lighting and is designed to be clean, organized, and safety-focused. You will work in a carbon-fiber production environment that can be dusty and requires consistent use of personal protective equipment. Fiberglass is one of the product lines, which can feel itchy on the skin, so proper PPE and adherence to safety procedures are essential. The workspace offers a mix of sitting and standing, with prolonged sitting required for weaving tasks and frequent use of fine motor skills and manual dexterity. The environment is generally quiet, with hearing protection required in specific areas where certain tools or equipment are in use. You must wear steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and ear plugs as required. Shifts operate on a three-shift schedule: 1st shift from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, 2nd shift from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and 3rd shift from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a shift differential for applicable shifts. The company operates with a small, team-oriented structure, so you may occasionally assist with tasks outside your primary job description, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work culture.
