About the Summer Program This seasonal role is designed for: Students studying Agriculture, Animal Science, Pre-Vet, Biology, or Environmental Science Participants in FFA, 4-H, or similar programs Young adults exploring careers in farming, husbandry, or food systems You'll gain practical, resume-worthy experience in: Hatchery operations Animal husbandry Biosecurity protocols Data tracking & agricultural analytics Large-scale farm operations What You'll Do Support daily operations inside our hatch & incubation facility as well as our juvenile greenhouses Monitor and adjust temperature, humidity, and environmental conditions Assist with egg collection, cleaning, and incubation prep Track and log incubation data for farm analytics Help care for juvenile birds, including feeding, watering, and observation Maintain strict biosecurity and cleanliness standards Participate in projects focused on improving hatch rates and animal outcomes Work in a structured hatchery environment (low-light, warm, and humid) where consistency matters more than speed What You'll Learn By the end of the season, you'll walk away with experience in: Embryonic development and hatch cycles Livestock behavior and health monitoring Real-world farm data systems and decision-making Sustainable protein production The realities of agriculture, including the full life cycle of livestock Who You Are Curious, hands-on, and not afraid to get a little dirty Interested in agriculture, animals, or food systems Comfortable with routine, repetitive tasks that require attention to detail Able to work independently and as part of a team Willing to learn and ask questions Physically able to perform light labor and be on your feet (No prior hatchery experience required—we'll teach you!) Important Note This role is part of a working ranch that raises animals for food production.
