Job Description

Job Details:
SUMMARY This position is responsible for supervising the operations of a designated hatchery by overseeing daily activities and developing strategies for continuous improvement. Responsibilities include completing chick delivery sheets, flock pull sheets, and mortality charts; maintaining driver logs that track miles driven and hours worked; and ensuring the timely movement of chicks to farms according to shipment schedules.

Additional duties involve monitoring incubation systems, hatchery equipment, and environmental control systems; overseeing chick delivery and pick-up operations; and supervising hatchery personnel on a daily basis. The role also includes grading egg fleets from hen farms, preparing vaccines for chickens, and performing additional duties as business needs arise. Other duties may be assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Education beyond high school is required, including specialized training, vocational school, and/or college coursework.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Computer Skills:
Basic computer proficiency required.
Travel:
Occasional travel required (1-2 times per year).
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position supervises a group of employees within a single department or work unit who perform similar and/or interrelated tasks.
