- $5,598 Monthly Add'l Salary Info Placement may be made up through the third step based on experience according to merit system rules.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
- Methods, materials, tools and equipment utilized in custodial and general maintenance.
- Skill in using the full range of equipment used in custodial work.
- Basic understanding of heating and air conditioning equipment sufficient to replace filters and adjust temperatures.
- Work hazards and safety practices.
- Leadership practices.
- Sufficient English language writing skill to document work activity.
- Sufficient human relations skill to influence the productivity of a small team and work cooperatively with site personnel and the public.
Ability to:
- Perform all of the essential duties of the position on a journey level.
- Schedule, assign and perform 'walk-through' quality reviews of the work of Custodians.
- Demonstrate custodial equipment and methods to Custodians.
- Plan, prioritize, and assign work in order to meet schedules and timelines.
- Write and maintain routine records, reports and correspondence.
- Work varying schedules.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.- Function effectively indoors and outdoors engaged in work of a moderately active nature.
- Cardiovascular fitness to engage in strenuous physical labor on an occasional basis.
- Near visual acuity to write, to read directions and product labels, and to observe work in progress.
- Hearing and speech for ordinary, telephonic, and 2-way radio communication, to hear sound prompts from equipment, and to determine if equipment is functioning properly.
- Manual and finger dexterity to write and to clean and make minor repairs.
- Lift, carry (max. 50 lbs.), push (max. 75 lbs.), pull, bend, squat, reach, and twist and turn head and trunk to clean and to remove trash, move furniture and equipment.
- Operate demanding equipment on an intermittent basis.
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Education and Experience:
- Any combination equivalent to: a High School diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of experience in a custodial position with working leadership preferred.
Requirements:
- Valid California Driver's License.
- May require First Aid/ CPR Certification.
- Hazardous Materials Awareness training within a reasonable time frame.
