Head Lifeguard-Seasonal FT Kenrick Corporation - 3.9 Brighton, NY Job Details Full-time From $19.50 an hour 4 hours ago Qualifications CPR Certification Lifeguard Training Safety regulations First aid First Aid Certification Decision making Lifeguard Certification Safety protocol implementation Full Job Description Head Lifeguard Job Summary The basic responsibility of the Head Lifeguard is to provide lead supervision for Lifeguards, monitors activities at pool, and functions as a Lifeguard. Participates in the selection, scheduling, and assigning of Lifeguard duties. Gives instructions in pool operating procedures, rules, safety practices, maintenance, and related matters is to oversee the SAFETY of all people using the pool and pool area. To do this, the lifeguard must act in a responsible and professional manner at all times. Candidates must be able to ensure the safety of patrons by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors. This person will need to be able to solve on-the-job issues by utilizing effective critical thinking and decision-making skills and possess the ability to work with diverse populations. Lifeguards must be able to enforce pool policies and be able to communicate effectively why policies are in place.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
Monitor pool-related activities closely throughout shift and identify any safety issues Ensures that swimmers are well supervised in the pool and on decks. Fills in for lifeguards as necessary. Orients new lifeguards to job duties and responsibilities. Ensures that all lifeguards are current on their training and certifications. Assists with the scheduling of lifeguards to ensure that adequate coverage of pool areas is maintained during operating hours. Ensures that lifeguards perform in accordance with established safety regulations and policies Performs all lifeguard responsibilities including monitoring pool activities, applying first aid, and performing water rescues as necessary. Direct swimmers out of pool in hazardous conditions Monitor swimmers at all times in order to ensure safety Maintain a clean environment around pool Monitor and record pool water chemistry. Clean bathrooms, replace toilet paper and paper towels as necessary. Provide assistance to swimmers and pool guests at any given time Provide timely availability schedule to Superintendent as requested Available to work weekdays, evenings and weekend days and evenings Performs related duties as required
Physical Demands :
Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity, and on occasion assist or lift persons in distress of varying weights. Required to remain alert to dangerous situations while sitting, standing or walking for various lengths of time.
Qualification Requirements :
Hold current certificates in lifeguard training, CPR, and first aid Have the ability to strictly follow safety rules Be self-directed and alert Dependable and punctual Have reliable transportation
