Job Description

As a Head Start Teacher, you'll guide a classroom of 3-5-year-old children, creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where every child can thrive. What You'll Do As a Head Start Teacher, you will: Lead a joyful, inclusive classroom that promotes school readiness, literacy, language, and social-emotional development. Implement a child-centered curriculum that reflects the needs, interests, and cultural backgrounds of the children you serve. Foster family partnerships by conducting home visits, hosting parent-teacher conferences, and involving families in their child's learning journey. Support diverse learners, including children with disabilities, by integrating Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) into daily instruction. Document and assess progress using observations, anecdotal notes, and digital tools like CreativeCurriculum.net to individualize instruction. Ensure child safety and well-being, from conducting daily health checks to modeling positive behaviors during meals and play. Who You Are We're looking for someone who is: Deeply committed to early childhood education and equity. Collaborative and flexible, able to work closely with assistant teachers, families, and site leadership. Reflective and growth-minded, using data to adapt instruction and improve outcomes for all children. Bilingual (Spanish-English) is a plus! Minimum Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent coursework. Pass a physical exam and background check. Valid driver's license or reliable transportation required. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and actively engage with children throughout the day.
