Head Summer Lifeguard

Training begins at the end of April, with the position starting in May! The Head Lifeguard position at Coral Bay Club offers the opportunity to lead a team, ensure safety, and deliver an exceptional member experience throughout the summer season. The Coral Bay Club is one of the top-rated private beach clubs in North Carolina, known for its high standards in service, pool and beach quality, presentation, and member satisfaction. With a 180,000-gallon pool and private beach access, we are seeking a dedicated leader who is ready to take ownership of daily operations and team performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily lifeguard operations and ensure a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for all members and guests Serve as shift leader, responsible for opening and/or closing duties , including facility setup, safety checks, and end-of-day procedures Will sit in and be a part of lifeguard rotations as needed. Supervise all lifeguard staff on duty, ensuring guards are on task, attentive, and performing responsibilities correctly Keep lifeguards organized, accountable, and operating as a cohesive team Enforce all pool and club rules consistently and professionally Ensure all assigned duties (cleaning, setup, monitoring, etc.) are completed properly and on time Take responsibility for correcting any incomplete or improperly executed tasks by lifeguard staff Provide leadership, direction, and real-time feedback to maintain high performance standards Maintain a positive, approachable presence and ensure members are safe, satisfied, and well cared for at all times Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and incidents in accordance with training Communicate directly with the manager on duty , providing updates, reporting issues, and ensuring alignment with daily operations Able to manage time wisely and organize tasks effectively. Respectful of members and other staff.

Requirements:

Must be available to work weekends and holidays Ability to move or lift beach furniture independently or as part of a team Prior lifeguard experience required (leadership experience preferred)
