2026 About the Role Kimberton Waldorf School seeks a Head Coach for our women's varsity volleyball team. Our entire roster is returning, and we reached the championship game last season. Lead practices, coach games, and help develop student-athletes both on and off the court. Key Responsibilities Plan and run practices, skill development, and conditioning Develop game plans, manage lineups, and make in-game adjustments Scout opponents and prepare the team for competition Communicate with players, parents, and the Athletic Director Supervise assistant coaches and volunteers Coordinate scheduling, travel, and equipment needs Ensure athlete safety; maintain or obtain First Aid/CPR and follow concussion/injury protocols Monitor academic eligibility and enforce school/league policies Required Qualifications Coaching experience at the high school or club level Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, formations (e.g., 5-1, 6-2), and skill development Excellent communication and leadership skills with adolescents and families Ability to commit to pre-season, regular season, and postseason schedules First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) Required background checks/clearances for PA schools Preferred Experience coaching teams to postseason play Familiarity with independent school settings Coaching certifications (USA Volleyball, NFHS) or collegiate playing experience Schedule & Compensation Practices weekdays (afternoons/evenings); games on weekdays and some weekends Seasonal stipend, commensurate with experience Opportunity for additional clinic or youth program work How to Apply Email a cover letter (coaching philosophy), resume, and three professional references to our Athletic Director at aabernathy@kimberton.org with subject line "Varsity Women's Volleyball Head Coach Application."
