We are seeking an experienced Women's Head Basketball Coach to lead our competitive post-graduate prep school program in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. This position is ideal for a coach with junior college (JUCO), prep, or collegiate coaching experience who is passionate about player development, recruiting, and helping student-athletes earn college opportunities. This is a full leadership role responsible for all aspects of the women's basketball program during a 6-month competitive season.Key Responsibilities:
Coaching & Player Development Plan, organize, and lead all team practices, games, and skill development sessions with strong on-court presence and high energy Create structured daily, weekly, and seasonal practice plans Provide hands-on on-court instruction and individualized player development programs Design and implement advanced offensive and defensive systems Coordinate individual workouts, position training, and performance improvement programs Game Preparation & Performance Manage game strategy, scouting reports, and statistics tracking Coordinate filming of practices and games Lead film/video breakdown sessions with athletes for development and accountability Recruiting & Athlete Placement Recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes Build relationships with college coaches to support athlete placement and scholarship opportunities Assist athletes with recruiting exposure and next-level preparation Program Operations Lead daily basketball operations including scheduling, communications, and player monitoring Travel with team for games, showcases, and recruiting events Manage transportation logistics Oversee equipment management (uniforms, practice gear, training supplies) Supervise assistant coaches and support staff Student-Athlete Support Provide housing supervision and ensure residential expectations are followed Mentor student-athletes academically, personally, and athletically Promote discipline, leadership, and character development Compliance & Administration Maintain compliance with school policies and athletic standards Track player evaluations, performance metrics, and program documentationQualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college or university preferred but not required Previous coaching or professional experience in college athletics, high school athletics, or prep school programs Strong knowledge of basketball systems, player development, and recruiting pathways Ability to lead with professionalism, structure, and positive energy Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and maintain a flexible work schedule Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Coaching certifications preferredWhat We Offer:
