Job Description

Description A Brief Overview The Behavioral Health Institute at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center invites applications for our two-year Behavioral Medicine/Health Psychology Clinical and Research Fellowship in collaboration with the Critical Limb Threatening Ischemia (CLTI) Behavioral Medicine Research Program. This fellowship offers an exceptional balance of clinical training, team research experience, and professional development. What You Will Do Clinical Activities (50%)
  • Individual and group behavioral interactions with patients
  • Multidisciplinary cardiovascular clinics within Heart and Vascular Institute
  • Outpatient Behavioral medicine rotations
  • Evidence-based interventions including CBT, ACT and Motivational Interviewing Research Activities (50%)
  • Assist in development and implementation of the CLTI Behavioral Medicine Research Program
  • Involvement in ongoing Behavioral Health Research Group studies
  • Analysis of existing datasets from federally-funded studies
  • Grant writing workshops and hands-on training in developing competitive NIH applications
  • Manuscript preparation with expectation of multiple peer-reviewed publications
  • Collaboration on active grant applications with Behavioral Health Research Group faculty Additional Responsibilities Participation in weekly individual and group supervision Weekly BHRG research team meetings with manuscript review and grant discussions Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Qualifications Education Doctorate Degree Clinical, Counseling or Health Psychology (Required) and from APA/CPA-accredited programs (Preferred) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Dissertation defended prior to fellowship start (Required proficiency) Strong interest in behavioral medicine, cardiovascular disease prevention, research career development and federal grant funding (Required proficiency) Prior experience with research design, data analysis, and scientific writing (Preferred proficiency) Licenses and Certifications Physical Demands Standing Occasionally Walking Occasionally Sitting Constantly Lifting Rarely up to 20 lbs Carrying Rarely up to 20 lbs Pushing Rarely up to 20 lbs Pulling Rarely up to 20 lbs Climbing Rarely up to 20 lbs Balancing Rarely Stooping Rarely Kneeling Rarely Crouching Rarely Crawling Rarely Reaching Rarely Handling Occasionally Grasping Occasionally Feeling Rarely Talking Constantly Hearing Constantly Repetitive Motions Frequently Eye/Hand/Foot Coordination Frequently Travel Requirements 10%
