Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Healthcare Biller to join the administrative team at our private practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical billing processes, insurance claim procedures and how to understand an explanation of benefits as given from the insurance company. As a Healthcare Biller, you will be responsible for accurately submitting claims, managing accounts receivable, handling claim denials and appeals and ensuring timely reimbursement for healthcare services. Your expertise will contribute to the efficiency of our billing operations and the overall financial health of our organization. Responsibilities Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using electronic billing systems. Answer patient calls regarding billing concerns Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective communication with insurance companies and patients to facilitate medical collections. Maintain detailed documentation of billing activities, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards. Reconcile accounts receivable, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to optimize revenue cycle management. Stay updated on changes in coding standards, insurance policies, and billing regulations to ensure ongoing compliance. Collaborate with office staff to verify patient information, insurance details, and ensure accurate data entry in medical records. Assist in training new staff members on billing procedures, coding practices, and system usage. Qualifications Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare documentation standards. Experience in handling collections and resolving billing disputes efficiently. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyze complex medical data accurately. Prior experience working in a medical or dental office environment is preferred; certification in medical billing or coding is a plus. Pay:
$24.55 - $29.56 per hour
