Full Job Description Position Overview:
The Assistant Project Manager plays a key role in supporting the successful delivery of healthcare construction projects. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced project leaders while gaining exposure to all phases of the construction lifecycle. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative, with a strong desire to grow within a team-focused environment.Key Responsibilities:
Support Project Managers in the planning, coordination, and execution of healthcare construction projects Assist in managing project schedules, budgets, and documentation to ensure successful project delivery Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, architects, and clients to maintain alignment on scope, schedule, and quality expectations Participate in project meetings and contribute to clear, consistent communication among stakeholders Assist with project cost tracking, forecasting, billing, and financial reporting Review project plans, specifications, and contract requirements to ensure compliance and accuracy Maintain and manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and job cost tracking Help monitor subcontractor performance, safety standards, and quality control measures Contribute to the development of strong client and partner relationships Support continuous improvement of internal processes and project execution strategies Work hand-in-hand with project superintendent to ensure project success Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent experience Experience withHCAI/OSHPD
projects, including at least one OSHPD 1 project preferred Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, scheduling, and estimating Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Familiarity with California Building Code and applicable industry standards Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management or scheduling software Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamPhysical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Frequent use of hands, rotation of wrists and finger dexterity for computer keyboard; moderate reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling file drawers of 10 - 50 pounds.
- Occasional walking and climbing stairs when visiting job sites/clients; exposure to outdoors, dust, high noise levels, hot and cold weather. PPE is required.
- Infrequent kneeling, bending or twisting upper body; lifting 10-20 pounds.
